Dumpster rentals · Cape Cod & PlymouthMattresses and box springs need special handling and carry per-item charges. Contact Dump Express before loading them so we can confirm acceptance, explain the fees, and plan their handling with your cleanup.
Plan for the Old Mattress Before Your Cleanout
A bedroom replacement, move, estate cleanout, or rental turnover can leave you with a bulky mattress and nowhere convenient to put it. Tell us whether you have a mattress, a box spring, or both, and whether they are part of a larger cleanup.
If you are already renting a dumpster, discuss these items before adding them to the load. If you only have a mattress to remove, call to discuss available arrangements before booking a container.
Mattress and Box Spring Charges
$90 Per Item
The published surcharge is $90 for each mattress or box spring. A mattress and a box spring are two separate items.
$150 Per Item with Asphalt Roofing
The published surcharge is $150 for each mattress or box spring when combined with asphalt roofing. Confirm the handling plan before loading.
These are item surcharges, not a complete dumpster-rental price. Review additional service charges and your town’s dumpster prices before booking.
What to Tell Us When You Call

- Your preferred dates and any access limitations
Part of a Whole-Home or Estate Cleanout?
Explain the full project so we can help you compare container sizes and identify other items that need separate handling. Keep mattresses and box springs out of the load until the team has confirmed the arrangements. Do not leave them beside the dumpster for the driver to load.
For a larger property project, see our estate cleanout guidance and dumpster size and rental FAQs.
Questions About This Service

Ask Dump Express before loading a mattress. Special handling and a per-item surcharge apply, and acceptance must be confirmed for your cleanup.

Yes. The published charge applies to each piece. Tell the team if you have both a mattress and a box spring.
How much is the mattress surcharge?
The published surcharge is $90 per mattress or box spring, or $150 per piece when combined with asphalt roofing. These charges are additional to the rental price; confirm the total before booking.
Will the driver carry the mattress out of my house?
The dumpster rental service does not include loading debris or removing items from inside your home. Call to confirm how your mattress should be handled before moving or loading it.
