When renting a dumpster in Cape Cod, its important to understand what items you can and can’t throw away. Not knowing the correct items that are banned can increase your costs and add to your overall work load. These items are universally banned for any dumpster rental in Cape Cod. You can not throw these types of items away in a dumpster.
Banned Items
Hazardous waste or liquid waste such as paint, gasoline, oil solvents, chemicals, household cleaners, fire extinguishers, batteries, propane tanks/compressed gas cylinders, fluorescent lights/tubes and CFL bulbs.
Hazardous materials or any type of toxic waste such as asbestos or asbestos containing materials, mercury containing items, or poisons.
Other banned items may include sealed drums and oil tanks.
Garbage or foodstuffs such as household garbage including food items.
Masonry such as asphalt, concrete, block, brick, rubble, stone, sand or dirt.
Yard Waste such as brush, trees, branches, leaves, grass, shrubs, clippings, mulch or other organic materials.
Banned Items Sometimes Accepted
Some banned items maybe accepted if placed in a separate, dedicated dumpster. These items can not be mixed with other items. Some Yard waste and masonry waste maybe accepted if placed in a separate container dedicated to that specific item. We recommend contacting us prior to utilizing dumpsters for these items so that we can provide you with proper instructions.
What Happens If Banned Items are Found Mixed in the Dumpster?
If a dumpster contains BANNED ITEMS, it will be returned to the job site at a cost to the user as indicated in the Additional Service Price section of our rental agreement. The BANNED ITEMS wil have to be removed by the customer before the dumpster can be processed. The yard will not accept banned items at their facility.
